The move introduces one of North America's most celebrated sporting traditions to the world's biggest football tournament.
Historic honour
FIFA confirmed that the championship rings will make their debut at the 2026 tournament, marking the first time such an award has been presented in any FIFA competition.
Only 2,026 individually numbered rings will be produced, reflecting the year of the tournament. Thirty rings will be reserved for the victorious team, while the remaining 1,996 will be released worldwide as an Official Licensed Product, giving supporters the opportunity to own a unique piece of FIFA World Cup history.
Exclusive design
Each ring will feature the FIFA World Cup trophy on one side, while the opposite side will be customised with the identity of the winning nation. Every ring will also carry its own individual number, be tailored to its recipient and come with a certificate of authenticity.
Immediately after the final, the winning team's captain and head coach will receive temporary rings during the celebrations. The full set of 30 rings for the champions will then be custom-fitted before being officially presented at a later date, ensuring each player receives a personalised keepsake commemorating football's greatest achievement.
